Is it best to use the smaller Thin Fin in the Spring?

There are many that would say yes. Fish are a little sluggish and troll speeds are slower, so the 3/8 oz really shines during this time early spring.
Steelhead season they will work again, and for the guys that travel out to Lake Erie for the walleye. The 3/8 oz. is no longer made but can still be found if you know were to look. The custom painted ones are painted on the old pre-rapala storm 3/8 oz. that are still brand new in the box baits that are custom painted in colors that will work for us on the southend.

All I use in the spring is the smaller size, no longer available except if you can find them in the secondary market such as Lickety Split or on eBay. Plenty of guys catch fish on the Brad's Thinfish which is the 1/2 ounce size. So if you can't get the smaller ones, go with what you can get.

These are my favorites in the spring, 3/8 oz red/black squiggle and they always seem to work well, these are still new as I haven't had to open them yet, I've seen the knock offs and they don't compare.

A fellow fisherman who fishes the old pre-rapala storms. Green labels yet.
