Ok so the first part is: am I going crazy or has anyone else seen the Asian flying carp in the ditch? The trip before my last when I was going in on fumes I swear I saw not 1 but 2 fish (small) jump behind the boats in front of me. Just like you would expect those silver carp to do.
Next why can't we have a LM license? Why can't the States get together and just let us buy one license for the whole lake? I don't mind getting the day lic to fish MI. But getting the IL day incurs the extra cost of the trout stamp for a part of the lake I may only fish once. It's not really the money, just the principle of the thing. If you want me to fish and spend money why would you want to squeeze for all it's worth? Good thing it's a big lake with lots of ramps.
Good luck to all and stay safe

Every state wants there money so you won't see that anytime soon. Haven't seen carp doing that, have to keep a eye on the river next time going and coming in. Mike

I have seen fish doing that for years in the ditch, have always assumed alewives as it tends to be in the summer and mostly only around dawn or dusk (mostly dusk or evening) when I see it.
Boatless!

I have said the same thing about the LM fishing license. you could make it like $100 or even $150 and all split the money. Since it only covers LM you would still get the money from the people who fish other lakes. KY Lake has reciprocity between KY/TN for the entire freaking lake. I know this covers a lot more but come on - its ridiculous not to mention how am I supposed to know what state I am in when I am fishing other than watching some landmarks (my GPS does not have state line marked I don't think).

I have asked that same question on other sites and the answer always comes back the same. It can't be done. It would not hurt license sales one bit. In fact it would make states money. I'll not fish in Wisc water but they would get a cut of my money if the LM license existed. Want to fish inland? Buy a regular license. Funny how it is a federal lake when it comes to stocking the lake and a state issue to fish it. Seems the federal government could sell the rights to fish the lake being it is coastal water.

I always thought it would be nice to have a swipe card for hunting and fishing license, or even just use a Driver's License number for the DNR to look up. By the end of hunting season, I usually have a wad of paper for deer, turkey, and waterfowl hunting, and fishing licenses from 4+ states.

Unless the fish are bigger than 1-1 1/2 lbs, they are shad jumping.
