Its been over 100 days (since May 1 Classic) since we put a lure on intended for lake trout, but after a fish-less, bite-less hour from 65' out to 90', something had to change.
One downrigger to the bottom with a tin can/green spinnie, then a second with a white Spin Doc/white fly. Two hours later, a three-man limit of lakers were landed between 92' and 97' due north of harbor. Made for an enjoyable morning.
Also lost three steelhead (2 on slide diver at 150' w. Steelie Stomper, 1 on 150 copper w. Bumble Bee). Perhaps didn't lock up so well at lake trout-crawling speed.
Anyways, charters were slamming mixed-bag of all species in this area since Sunday, but not today.

Also, contrary to some beliefs, I like eating lake trout - grilled, boiled or smoked.

Did you mark fish or were they just gone?

Do not have a reliable graph on board. However, charter capt's were talking about bait schools in the 70-80' range, but were at one to three silver fish per boat when we came in (10 am).
Possible full moon affected morning chinook bite that had been happening?

Certainly seems plausible
