Made it out again this morning. boat in at 6:30. Casted frenzy's for an hour in the creek. Went out in the lake and trolled plugs, spoons, thin fins and jointed raps. Went out to 60 fow and back. Nice day to be out. No hits, no marks, no nothing. Snapped a downrigger rod changing lures, that's the second one this year. Crazy right? Of course those two rods were bought back in the early 90's and have literally caught hundreds of fish. It's funny, the Penn 209's on those rods still work perfect but I think the rods just got brittle over the years. The good news is I get to buy some new rods! But these fish have really got me confused. I know I've been away from fishing Lake Michigan for awhile but I haven't forgot how. I'm just wondering if this weather has got them really messed up this year, in particular the warm water. I'm going to do some perch fishing next week and when the weather cools down go back after the salmon. Any thoughts? We did run up to the state line just see how many boats were out perching. I counted three but have no idea how they did. There were 3 other boats out trolling, two were in the same area as I was and 1 boat was quite a bit farther out. Maybe a half dozen or so fishing from shore and everyone I spoke to had not hooked up. We called it a day at about 2pm.

You left out the important details- did you get flashed again at least ?? Thanks for the report. Looks like rain all night and morning so no fishing for me now Saturday unless I go out in the afternoon.

Well...no...no flashing today, but that was a really good thing. Lynn stayed home today and if Danny would have flashed me it would have gotten real ugly real fast....as in one of us would have been swimming home.
