Went to Gary lighthouse this morning. Got my limit in about 40 minutes. Most of the action came on a orange wiggle wart and orange thin fin. Had a few hits on a blue flickr shad. Missed a few fish as well. Wind was brutal! The Coast Guard was out today and I got checked. They were pretty nice. Biggest fish was a lil over 4#.

Nice, awesome to see some real nice sized cohos show up

Given the returns of jacks last year and the early reports from northern MI and WI where they usually don't catch coho this time of year, it could be a real good year-class of mature coho this year

Just for some of our newer guys on the lake. In your experience with the coast guard what did they check. How did the experience go from start to finish. If you don't mind telling us. I personally have never been checked but to the best of my knowledge my boat exceeds what is expected. Awesome fish too I think those are the biggest I've seen so far taken.

They asked to board my boat, which I agreed to. They checked to see if I had life jackets, a throwable pfd, flares, and ID with boat registration.
