Thanks for sharing this here Ed. I seen this on Facebook. Interesting to say the least. I started hearing about these a year ago. Ben was commenting on Facebook with some helpful information about them. Lets hope they continue to expand and contribute to the forage base. This will allow them to take some of the predation pressure off the ales and focus on a more diverse bait fish population. Apparently they grown up to 15" which is most cases will be to big to be consumed. This is good because it means the reproduction population could sustain it self without being pressed by as many predators.

Those are three separate species, but all in the same genus

Cisco/tulibee/lake herring same fish - Coregonus artedi


Lake whitefish - Coregonus clupeaformis

Chub/bloater - Coregonus hoyi
