MC Harbor is full of kings with lockjaw, that said we caught a nice 17 pound king on our turn by the lighthouse stating his run. I'm thinking of trying Benton Harbor, they just started running in good numbers and it appears to be more Steelhead running than kings. Any thought for the the weekend gents? Where are you going this weekend and why?

Im going to work, because its my turn :(

Personally this time of year I’m looking for kings. I’m almost positive that Trail and Salt/Cal have been getting more kings than the Joe for several years now. The Joe does get a good number of coho and the skam’s tend to run later so if you’re just looking for action that might be the place to go. I think it’s going to be a beach towel and pleasure boat weekend looking at the forecast. If I weren’t working, I’d probably get out at about 4am and troll or cast the harbor at MC or Portage, then start looking for perch at sunrise. There was a flurry of perch activity before the N/E blow last week, and it looks like it might be worth the effort to grab some minnows again now.

I fished the harbor mouth at St Joe on Tuesday evening. There was cold water close to shore and I concentrated on the river plume and harbor mouth. I had one hit that was likley a king, but it came unbuttoned after a hard run. The only other releases i had were some gigantic gaspergoos. I caught 4 large drum on j-plugs and magnum moonshine spoons. I never saw another boat lift a net the whole time and i fished from @4pm until after dark.
