First trip this year - finally! Put the boat in at the Portage Marina @ 1:00pm and it was packed like a summer weekend - social distancing in a boat is popular option it seems.Headed east towards the port and setup trolling. Took a short Coho right away on a fire tiger Rapala. Caught two legal Coho and another short fish in the waters east of the harbor mouth - had a couple of short strikes as well. The water temps were 38-39 in the main lake and up to 45 in the harbor area. All fish came on flatlined crankbaits - nothing on the dodger/fly combo. I had to dodge some barge traffic and boat pulling 8 planer boards but not too bad.
Everything on the boat worked good, decent weather and some fresh fish in the cooler - all in all a good trip. Stay safe and healthy out there fellow fisherman and don't forget to wash your hands - especially since everyone is using the same pen to check in at the marina self drop box......
