No, I’m using Silver Horde’s Sams Pro Release. Thought was same (pro release). But has similar feature of wrapping line around a barrel and there is a screw for tension.

They actually are quite similar, same principal. Silver Horde actually does do these for downriggers also.

Not on the boat so this photo might not make sense. I use 2 #16 rubber bands for mono or braid. You can use bead chain with snaps or steel leader or anything similar off your cannoballs. Wrap each rubber band at least 3 wraps and put on clip. No false releases, More than likely you see rod bobbing and snap rubber bands yourself.

Whew! That looks like quite a rig. This one is much more simple ---- just wrap a couple loops around your hand and double the RB through the loops. Pull the loops in the line and attach to a hook on the weight. When using braid and fishing really deep, I may put two bands on the line.

Just wanted to give an update- I loosened the tension and doubled my loops around the barrel and the release works perfectly now. Really like this release as it allows me to use braid and it's pretty easy to use even for this newb
