Went out to 95th street and launched before daylight. Shot up the river to 106th street bridge and started searching for perch. Ended up getting our 2 man limit of 8-10” fish. Action wasn’t very quick but we were able pick away and stay interested. Headed out to the main break wall and setup out of the wind to jig for lakers. Within 15 min we had caught 2 and called it a day. It was nice to get out mid December and enjoy the big lake.

Nice! And it looks like some pretty light tackle for the Trout. I have some 12’ crappie rods that look just like the one in the pic.

That’s my father-in-law loving to use his 11’ crappie rods for everything. Im surprised he was able to set the hook

The lakers will be close to shore until the water starts to warm back up. The perch have been harder to find this year but if you have time you can put limits in the boat.
