Went out of the ditch in the am ran to Gary Light and trolled until we had 5 around 1 pm we trolled back to the ditch hit the second double of the day. We went 7 for 10 all coho only one on a red dodger and blue boy peanut fly, the rest came on a lime green thin fish, a jointed firetiger flicker shad with an orange tail, a DW reg blue dolphin-1, silver and blue hot-n-tot. The hot n tot seemed to be the hot one we only landed 1 on it but it was hit 2 other times. All in all, we had a pretty good time even though the waves didn't help any.

I guess some years are just different.  While I have only been out twice, orange didnt do squat for the most part.  Every year, every week, every day is different though.  I got out on a shakedown trip on monday before cabin fever and 75% of my bites came on yellow.  Come tournament day, none did lol

At this point I think we can chalk it up to "its a weird year" and I think our warm winter and late cold snap in Feb might have something to do with that.

Yep, just a weird year, and by the time I get done turkey hunting the silver rush might be over, still have Erie though. We caught in the deeper part of GL and then in 20-30 fow on the slow troll home, speeds were 1.8-2.4 then a bit faster with the wind and waves troll to the ditch, listened to the hum of the rigger lines.

Glad to hear you got out and caught some fish!  I’ve been out every weekend since ice off and there has been no pattern to what works best each time out. Black/purple, yellow, chrome/chart., and red have been the only colors producing for me.  Mainly cranks, nothing on flashers or spoons yet.
Fish on!
