Launched out of MC Saturday with a plan of starting in close for steelhead but didn’t see any stringers out on the pier so offshore it was. Went out on a N heading and worked 90 to 120 with baits on the surface down to 60 ft. Ended 11/14 throwing back 3 lakers including a nice 20 lber. 2 steelies hit the box and lost a nice one towards the end on a 2 color buffalo bill. Speed was a big factor and since the waves were a force in the end I believe we did our best going with the waves running about 2.6 gps. All baits hit at all depths with blue dolphin and steelie stomper being the standouts, but unlike everyone else on the radio I could not buy a bite on a dodger fly(started the day with 4 out). As the day went on the bite seemed to pick up and then moved in around the 80-95 range but we were on our way out before we could do a whole lot of damage out there. Cooler shot is missing a fish we picked up while packing up. Overall a great day summer fishing and nice to see some silver around.
