First, anyone been doing any good outta NB? I wanna fish tomorrow evening and thinking of heading there where the chop will be less.

St Joe has been great this month. 3 trips for us and good numbers of silver every time. I thank the consistent north wind for bringing us the fish, but who knows. 120-210 fow depending on the day. Seems to be moving towards a F/F bite and our dipseys are finally firing consistently. Lots of chunky hos pushing 10lbs. Fishing the thermocline and slightly above/below. Ripping at 2.9-3.1mph at the ball most times.

Good job Steve.   Last weekend it sounded like it was hot in 130+ FOW with some reports of 105 FOW.   I got two kings in 99 FOW and that was pretty much between Portage and NB so there are fish in that area (or was last weekend).   I have only been out a couple times this year and got skunked out of SJ so not the best person to respond.

SteveK, the fishing out of New Buffalo hasn’t been great, at least for me over the last month. Seems like Michigan City west has been doing really good. I fished north of NB last Sunday and ended up picking up and running over to Michigan City area to pick up a few fish.

I fished out of SJ this morning and managed 3 nice coho and a short. As well as a few Lakers in 120fow. Hadn’t heard much out of there, wish I would have headed up there or west my last couple trips. Maybe others are doing better out of NB but I haven’t heard much.

Yes we were getting nothing at all from 3 corners all the way until we hit 99 FOW.   It was not hot and heavy after that so I think there are some roaming around but lots of dead time in between.    I have been seeing a lot of reports this year about West being really good which seems to go along with what you said.

Capped off the month in style! Only one I heard caught for the day, so don't go getting excited. I think the southwest wind pushed most of the silver numbers away from us.

Caught on meat, 95 down in 130 fow. Weighed at 26lbs. Also had 4 cohos and a few Lakers for the day.

Nice King - I tried St Joe Sunday evening from 115 - 160 ft and only had one hit and managed to landed a nice fat Coho down 60 on rigger. The open water seems to be hit or miss but the weather has been great for small boat offshore excursions
