Hello, I was wondering if anything is going on in the EC area until the perch fishing starts around cal harbor in the Thanksgiving timeframe.
Just looking to bend some rods are smallmouth around Buffington? What do the lakers do this time of year? I know when it gets colder in Nov i can jig them in close but I really don't know what to target in the area for the next couple months.  Amy help is much appreciated.

Kings should be showing up if they haven’t already. I haven’t made it out but plan to in the next couple weeks.

There are no streams/rivers at EC, so they're probably still milling around outside the harbor or around the hole in the wall or ship canal...etcThat depends on the stocking cycle also which I can't keep up with nowadays

If you went out and checked instead of asking, you might have been enjoying some pretty good fishing.

Thr whole point of me asking is that ,being pretty new to this and never being out at this time of year, I really didn't know what to target. I always post reviews when i go out and the last two times out in front of EC I was skunked. With the limited time i now have due to family commitments and work I am trying find a starting point, not somebody's hotspot.
Thanks for your very informative comment, helps me out a bunch.

Silver fishing is about done now. If you catch a nice lake you might find some fish out in offshore water but that is also a hit or miss. There will be some coho and 2year old kings that didn't mature yet til next season. there are a few out there every year. I don't like bringing it up only cause not many boaters out still. You would probably have to get out to areas of 49north.

There will be some perch fishing coming up and then Lakers that come in shallow usually around the end of Oct,
Many of our fishermen start heading to Lake Erie to fish walleye. If you have fished walleye out there during summer months then fall is when you can get into some really big ones. I would highly suggest the port of Huron, they have fantastic ramps. Alittle north from there is Cranberry Creek. It is a much smaller launch site between Huron and Vermillion. That area is only going to get better as fall continues and I have fished there and caught walleye into January..

Thank you LS, I love Erie. Unfortunately i think i lost my vacation time for this year so my planned outing there will probably have to be scrapped.  I was going to enter the Brawl/Slam this year- it only takes one dream fish to get a quarter million in boats.
Also thanks on the info for out front, think I'll have to wait on the perch and on the Laker jigging.
