At the meeting in Michigan City biologists said "we're close". Haven't had any reason to doubt that answer to your question. We're due for a mild winter so let's hope that is the case. Personally I don't think that will matter. The ales don't have food!!

I feel that we've been in a "crash" for a year and a half. I think its been a prolonged crash compared to lake huron due to the stocking cuts the dnr has done to prevent that sudden crash they experienced. I feel like due to the stocking cuts the dnr has given us a chance to rebound with kings still to catch, where as in huron its been over a decade and it still hasn't recovered enough minus some areas like saginaw bay.
