Fished EC on 3/21 and tried to keep score of the results. Trying for a 9 rod spread, I managed to get all 9 out for perhaps 15 minutes of the morning. Ran a near even mix of crankbaits and dodger flies. Two cranks, one D/F went on the planer boards on each side. Both Dipseys had D/F and one downrigger with a J-9 Rapala went on one downrigger. Planned to run a D/F slider but never managed to get it out. The downrigged J-9 set at 15" got three hits one or two of them got off. Every set caught fish. Overall the catch was about 2:1 cranks vs. D/F.  Started with 3 Storm Rattlin' ThinFins (red with black squiggle) and one FireBrand Thinfin (orange top with yellow sides). Hooks pulled off one of the RTs so I subbed in a Demon #7 ShadRap (orange craw) and it went to work instantly.  

This is actually a good showing for D/Fs for this time of the year. Most years, the D/F bite doesn't start until early April. 

If you want to see the Demon Rap - check out my post in The Watercooler Section. The Demon Raps are always solid producers, but since they are built for walleyes and made from balsa, don't expect them to catch dozens and dozens of fish like RTs.  Ten to 20 fish per lure is probably average. I think of it this way - one ShadRap costs about as much as a dozen minnows. How many fish are you going to catch with a dozen minnows?
