Fished out of Portage from 7AM-11AM on 04/19 with no luck on Salmon. Did catch this awesome Walleye though. Been fishing Lake Michigan for 40 years and never caught a Walleye. Also, never so excited to head in with one fish in the box but we were. 30" and 9#

That is a heck of a fish! Awesome. Where did you fish out of Portage and depth?

Very nice wally! I've caught a couple over the years at St. Joe but nothing like yours.

Congrats on a great catch. Seems like the walleye that get caught on and around the ditch are similar in size. Not all but many are in the same size range. I also saw pictures that Ben has posted over time with some really big ones.
This one was taken out in front. We were king trolling in September after dark. Couldn't believe this one coming up from the depths with those big eyes shinning in the lantern light. A custom glow J-13 did him in.
