We finally got out on the lake this afternoon for the first time this season. I planned a couple trips late March and early April but had to cancel because conditions were too rough. It wasn’t exactly a smooth ride out on the lake this afternoon though. The wind was howling out of the south.
We launched out of New Buffalo around 3 pm and fished until about 6 pm. We went 4 for 4 on coho on a north troll in 50 to 60 FOW on Red Squiggles and Firetiger Thin Fish off big boards. They didn’t touch the flash flies or spoons. Nothing closer to shore. The river was brown like chocolate milk. We called it quits around 6 pm because it was getting rough out there.
I think they’re scattered or further out. Has anybody else had any luck?
