TOPIC:

We fished SJ in 55-80 FOW and ended up with a 3-man limit. We started setting lines at 5:30 am and had 6 fish on the deck by 6:15 am. Action was hot through the morning. We had our 15 fish by 8:30 am and then quickly picked up lines to head back to port. Back at the dock by 9:00 am.

Downriggers down 35-45 ft with OG Moonshine Dancing Anchovy and Bloody Nose were on fire. Orange Stubby flashers with blue and green coho flies off 3-color and 5-color leadcore went several times. The slide diver with Salmon Candy Megatron flasher and blue fly caught a couple of fish as I was setting it. We only lost like 3 fish all morning because they were hitting aggressively and hooking themselves really well. So we went 15 for like 18. 

That OG Moonshine Dancing Anchovies spoon is all banged up and bent from all the fish it’s caught, which I think gives it an erratic action that triggers strikes. It’s been one of my best spoons the last couple years. It’s going to be a sad day for me when I lose that spoon. I’m going to have to start over with another spoon.
