Got out on the first voyage of the year and went only a quick 1 for 1 on a yellow bird perch rapala at the donut. Great to be back on the water! As a yearly reminder make sure your flares, registration, and all safety items are in check! Coast Guard was roaming around today.

Nice! and yea good reminder. I just realized I believe my flares are expired. Going to have to take care of that asap.

Checked mine before I went to the Captain's weekend. They were expired last fall. Whew! The replacements were expensive at Cabela's. Might want to check some on-line sources but be sure they aren't nearing their expiry date. All I bought was a four-pak of "shotgun" shells. Don't have the receipt close but it was over $30.

I was also able to get out today. Fished Gary light. Ended up with 5 coho's. Missed 5. Caught 4 on Orange J9. Water was very murky. Lost sight of the lure down 1 foot. Went out with Fishersofmen.
