Nice catch. Just curious, I've only been at Gary light once and that was trolling. What's the preferred method and bait choice for casting there?
Guys anchoring up near the discharge area?
What kind of lures work best for you?

I prefer a white 1/4oz lead jighead, 3" white twister grub with a thin strip of fresh squid. I usually just stay inside and close to the breakwall within 75yds or so and cast and rip the jig slowly back in. Though everyone has their own routine either casting smaller spoons, cranks or drifting slip bobbers with bait set from 8-10' down .....

They were using White Jig and body. He didn't say anything about having any "meat" on the jig.

You can troll all the way to the south end turning basin, normal spring cranks work well. It can be combat time if too many boats try it.
