The good news is it was nice to catch some kings! The bad news is we went 5 for 11. Me and Northwoods got out today and we just could not keep them buttoned up to the net. We ended up with 2 lakers ( 3 & 15 lbs), 2 Kings (10 & 12 lbs) and a Steelhead (11lbs). Nice day to be out. No pattern - all 6 rods took hits as well as every bait change we made.....

Nice job guys! Heard you pulling lines as my dad and I were setting up. We trolled from about noon to 4 without a hit. First time we've been out in almost a month, just nice to be out. We ran a bunch of spoons, couple d/f, thi fins and rapalas, 3/8oz -7 colors, moved the riggers up and down. On the bright side and possibly a reason for the skunk, we got to try out the new Garmin charplotter/sonar. Spent a lot of time at the helm playing with the features and settings. Real nice to see you guys got some quality fish in close. Any info on depths and presentations that worked?

the bite seemed to be better early, even with the heavy cloud cover later in the day. We lost alot of fish early. Most of our fish came on presentations 25-35 down over water that was 35-55' deep. There was no magic hot spot or bait - at least for us. Things that took strikes were a FF on an 8 color, orange crush on a 5 color, Monkey Puke, Bloody nose, Mixed Veggies, Carmel Dolphin, Blue Dolphin, Happy Meal, Flounder Pounder on riggers / dipsies.

The kings where healthy, not skinny but not fat either. The 12 pounder fought like heck - thought he was going to go 20 until we got him in the net. Multiple long runs and even got out in front of the boat at one point. Thank goodness he was hooked really well! Both kings were wild.
