last year I was float fishing salt creek with waders and my fly rod. it was sunny and around 40 degrees. I was fighting flowing ice and slush all morning and I kept walking the shallows to get a nice drift. water was just above my knees and I was watching my float and controlling my drift so much I didn't notice the water rising. by the time I did it was at my belly and I was at a steep embankment I could not get out. lucky for me I was able to get back on the trail before it got above my waders. this all happened in less then 5 mins. I sat and watched the water rise about another foot then I saw it rapidly drop back down to the level that I started at. After that scare I packed it up and went home thankful I wasn't going home in a box. My lesson learned is your warning heard. Be careful guys and gals.
