Once she gets unwrapped I have to check all of mine. They were good for last year but cant remember the dates.

I have a WP "electric flare" and reviewed it in Great Lakes Angler. I actually trust it more than the pyrotechnic ones. For one thing, the electric one lasts for 100 hours or so. How many flares would you need to last that long? Seems like they go on sale periodically and even at normal price, they aren't much more than a set of flares with a plastic pistol kit.

I got one and I like it. And I hope I never need it. The old aerial flares never impressed me. And who wants to hold a hand flare inside your boat?

West Marine is having a one day sale on Friday. Light and distress flag for $69.00 . Normal price is $99.00

It appears that between the light and day time distress flag you are US Coast Guard compliant.
