I discovered this site and forum a few months back while looking for good, reliable information on fishing Lake MI and I have to say, I am more than impressed with the openness that everyone exhibits regarding fishing success (and failures). I have gotten behind in strategies and methods for fishing the big lake and this forum has provided an invaluable education over the past few months. Thanks to those who manage the site and thanks to those who share information.

How does this site generate revenue or pay for the costs of upkeep? Do you sell swag, advertising, donations, out of the pockets of a few folks?

I am with you Drew - I started Salmon fishing 3 years ago and the wealth of information and friends I have made are priceless. I try to share most information when I post but if I dont have details that someone wants they can just reply to my post and I am more than willing to share unless I was on someone else's boat or someone else gave me a tip and asked me not to share - then I will respect their wishes.

Jeff (dirty) manages the site and does a fantastic job. We have a few moderators that help him out with the small stuff.
It is very unusual to have a website that shares information like we do. Thanks for the kind words and we are glad that this site was able to get you back in the game.

The site is paid for out of pocket. The small amount of advertising that we do have goes 100% to the tournament prizes we give out in the spring. Awesome group of moderators we have here - they do a wonderful job!

Also - I think its pretty amazing to see all the anglers posting what they do. Hats off to everyone who takes the time to share information. Definitely a great group of people around here.
