Great Lakes Salmon Initiative

A dedicated group of individuals that moved and pushed forward the goal to save our Chinook fishery and work with the MDNR for the economic and angler stability, access and satisfaction.

Mark this down on your calendars!!

What: GLSI General/Informational Meeting
When: Saturday March 2nd 2pm to 5pm
Where: Jays Sporting Goods Clare

The GLSI invites you to attend this meeting to hear what our goals and objectives are for the future of our Great Lakes Fisheries, focusing on BOTH Lakes Michigan and Huron. What direction the State of Michigan was heading in management perspectives and where we are heading now.

Anglers, Manufacturers, Tackle Stores, Members and non-members alike, if you are involved in our fishery you are invited to attend. We want to hear what you want out of our salmon and trout fisheries. What types of material and topics of discussion would you like to see.

We will be putting a complete agenda together and posting in the very near future.

Potential topics:
GLSI accomplishments and how we are working for you.
Bait fish assessments, stocking numbers and locations, whitefish-cisco, Tribal interests, Coho stocking Lake Huron, Diet Studies--Salmon Ambassador Program, Zonal Management, Lake Trout stocking/harvest/creel limits/population assessments, Natal Production, Environmental modeling, Chinook

This is your opportunity to speak up, ask questions and give/receive input!
