Are they supposed to be for fishing?  Maybe part of some kind of rod rack or similar?

Buddy bought box of fishing "stuff" at auction they were in box. Probably not fishing gear after he did some googling. Company makes tooling for heavy equipment.

These are stands for servicing automotive cylinder  heads.  You stick the rod part through the bolt holes of the head and turn the head over on the bench.  Used to do valve seat and chamber repair.  Defenetly not for fishing!  Lol.
