Our second day at Northpoint last week turned foggy and buggy.  I mean pea-soup fog and mag-zillions of bugs.  We donned covid masks to keep them out of our nose and mouth!  At least they were not biting flies.  In the fog we had several different birds on the boat.  Here's a photo of one I took (It must have eaten a hundred of the bugs.) You can see the air is thick and look at the reels and line. "Buggiest day ever" and I've been at it for over 40 years.  Points for IDing the bird - I had to look it up.

That's a day on the water you will never forget.    I have only seen that once before fishing at Stannard Rock on Lake Superior, and that was 35 years ago.   Hopefully I never see it again.      I am guessing that bird is an Eastern Towhee.

That’s great luck to have a bird land on the boat.  Had it happen a few times out deep and I assume they needed a rest.

Here's one who thought he was a parrot.  Set there on my shoulder for the 11 mile run back from deep water one foggy day.  This was several years ago.
