Hello fellow Southenders!

This poll was created to keep track of how many King Salmon are either naturally reproduced or stocked in our waters. Please enter only true data as false data does no body any good. Please vote for every fish you catch and have note of. It is very easy to tell if the King is wild or stocked by the adipose fin.

We are all looking forward to this data and I wanted to make sure we put this out here before the Kings start showing up.

Thank you and best of luck!

I fish out of St.Joe and Portage. I think if you do this all summer this would be a great report for the fishery
I will post my catch.

Thanks Eaglesnest. I too fish out of St Joe (only). The plan is to have this running the whole season.

Great idea! We should also post where the fish were caught. If it were to turn out most of the kings at EC were hatchery fish and most at New Buffalo were wild, that's meaningful. I would also guess the more heads from the hatchery fish the fish-biologists can get, the better their data. Michigan has freezers at many fish cleaning stations to deposit them. I don't know what the protocol is here in IN.

Thanks BNature, we all believe it'll be some great data. I like your idea of posting where the catches where from. Just trying to think of a way to make that part of the data more organized instead of flipping through tons of pages and counting the ports. Maybe everyone who posts puts their most used port/home port? Thoughts?

I know many shy away from gps#'s but is there away to generalize that information of location? When all the info is looked a,t it would have a story of its own.

Along with the wild and stocked options, can some general areas be added, like EC, PORT, MC,NB and ST JOE. If that is possible.

I think it borderline becomes difficult. If we include those 5 ports, we end up having 10 Poll options. We are going to be mostly catching kings offshore except for early spring and fall - so the port is not is rendered null for the most part.

I think a secondary poll once fall arrives would be good that would include catch location information.
