When: April 10, 2021
We had 43 boats in 2019. As we know, 2020 did not work out. 2021 should work out just fine.
Due to liability concerns, the tournament will officially be hosted by the Hoosier Coho Club. Due to extra insurance required, the entry fee is a little higher but all entrants will get a free 2021 Hoosier Coho Club membership and 1/2 off any HCC tournament (except for the classic).
A few things will be different this year to make things more convenient:
Boats may leave out of Portage or MI City
Registration will be the evening before, or the morning of the tournament in both Portage and MI City
If you need to register outside of those times - no problem just call me. (219) 682-5575
There will be no captains meeting
The weigh in will still be at Marina Shores in portage
Instead of prize raffles, every captain will get a captains bag with goodies at the weigh in
Cannot wait! A lot of work has always gone into this from the moment we first thought about it. Now that I moved our boat to Marina Shores I'll be putting together a family team for this. Lets hope for good weather and some good laughs as the tournamet is always a good time. See you guys out there and good luck.
Here are some other questions that have been asked:
1) I assume the Covid mask/social distancing is for when on land and not a mandatory for when on the boat? We will need to follow whatever rules the state or marina should have in place. I am optimistic its relaxed. When on your boat, do as you wish.
2) It says no lines in the water until official 8 AM call start - does that mean we can already be out on the lake in the spot we want to fish at 8 am, just no lines in the water? You may travel to your fishing spot prior to 8am no problem - just no lines in the water until 8.
3) Is the big fish a separate fee or is it included in the $60 (I don't think I saw a mention of a big fish side fee)? There is no seperate big fish fee. There is also not a cash payout for big fish. Just a nice trophy, and excellent prize package courtesy of Slez's (perhaps rod & reel setups but not sure yet), plus a Fish Hawk TD.
"Reel Dirty"~ Sea Ray 330 Express Cruiser / Amberjack.
Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results!
