As MC Angler mentioned yesterday, kings were still crunching at St. Joe. Same today, after watching a handful of boats weigh-in for a five-best shootout at Tournament Trail on Facebook (Live). Just saw a 24-pounder and five-fish weights of 84 and 75 pounds.
Bottomline is if your boat can be trailered, I wouldn't stop anywhere short of St. Joe. Hottest port on the lake.
To put the size of the current crop of chinook in perspective, every Classic salmon record - total weight, big fish, average weight, etc. - was broken last weekend in Michigan City (by boats fishing near St. Joe) and the Classic is a 44-year index.
One other thing - thanks fishery managers.

Your dead on. I'll be fishing st joe this Sunday. Attention all kings please swim to my boat sunday a.m. I will have 2 spinnies with tasty flies and a lot of colorful spoons to eat.
