Excellent again, another different mix of fish.- 10 kings (large variety), four coho, one laker by 9 a.m. Downriggers (green dolphin and caramel Stingers) at 20' and 22', same pair of baits on dipsy's out 60' and 65' over 30-50'.
Fish have been aggressive - 3.0+ on gps, short leads with 'riggers and divers bunched together. Did not use long lines/boards, which made maneuvering quick and a lot easier to land kings.

Nice. It’s a lot more fun when you know there’s fish around and you can dial things in. I saw fish coming up to my rigger balls on the graph this week and not hitting. Probably a sign to try shorter leads.

If they’re still around like this when I get off midweek, I’m going to be drifting with live bait and casting or jigging.

South shore, have you tried this approach before?

Yea, kings are a bit tougher for me than the other species, but anytime you have concentrations of fish you can catch them with methods other than trolling. Alewives are easy to catch using a sabiki rig this time of year and everything from perch to kings are eating them. I usually fish them on the bottom from the pier, from the boat either a bobber rig or just suspended with an egg sinker above a swivel. I like to look them behind the dorsal with a small treble. Jigging with flukes and casting or jigging spoons or spinners is more work but also takes fish.

Sounds like fun.
Have caught fall kings jigging in the past when they've stacked up at spots along the breakwall, lakers too. But these fish are a different critter right now.
Hope you get them going and report.
