Still snapping. Lines in 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., seven kings (mostly 9-12 lbs), two coho - left one short of limit for the fish Gods. Double setting lines in 45' off condo, so stayed in that depth from there to Lighthouse and around and around. Blue Dolphin (standard size Warrior) took five chinook at 30' on 'rigger. Water dirty due to Trail Creek outflow, so surprised still hitting well.
Buddy who left marina at same time and ran east three miles to fish in clean water, did not hit a fish until was back in front of harbor in the stained stuff. He finished with nine (8 kings, 1 laker) before dark

Every king we've caught in past week has been on a spoon (others are doing it with spin doctors/flies, meat rigs and plugs).
Large majoirty have been on short leads (20') off 'riggers, which is completely contrary to the way the chinook bite, when we've had one, has trended in the last 20 years. Had become a long copper/board bite with only the occasional, early-morning fish coming in on the 'riggers. I think a lot of this has to do with water clarity which has yet to really clean up at MC - prior to recent rain, the water had that fishy-green color to it.

Mike,
You have been out way too much for my liking. I find myself increasingly jealous and I dont like it :) haha

Thanks again for all the info and reports - greatly appreciated!

They didnt like something. Could of been the wobble of the spoon wasn't what they were looking for. When you see that a few times in a trip then try changing your speed to change the wobble of the spoon or the rotation timing of the flasher.

Always put a lot of vacation days into May, but usually off doing other things - big salmon fishing like this may never happen again. Trying to wrangle a way to go north in August
