Unfortunately all I can tell is how not to catch fish. Started north of ditch in 80' and went to 95' with not a bump or mark on the graph. 53 degree water at 65 down and fished between that temp up to 35' on riggers and copper. Packed up everything and headed into 60' north of the Gong and fished between 60 - 75'. Again, nada. 53 degree water 55' down. Packed up everything and headed to the mouth of the ditch and made a couple of passes and to #4 but by that time the wind was up enough to make to much like work. Between weather, work, son's soccer, etc. only my 4th time out this year so clearly off my game. Out again for the next couple of weekends but very fortunate in that the family is headed to Costa Rica including 3 days of fishing so hopefully the skunk doesn't follow me there.

I have yet to hear a screaming drag on the boat all year. biggest fish on the boat was the big 3.8 coho we caught fishing the night tournament. and I got one maybe 8lb steelhead fishing MC pier. been frustrating that's for sure! but I am headed to san diego on the 20th to go try and find some blue fin and yellow fin tuna. its prime time down there right now so hopefully ill have some nice pictures to put up when we get back. and a freezer full of tuna steaks

WillBill: Going on a long range boat? I've stood at the rail on the Polaris Supreme many times! Just heard California is cracking down on the number of bluefins you'll be able to come home with even if caught in Mexican waters.

Stroke: Which side of CR are you going? Pacific or Carribean? I had a trip of a lifetime on tarpon out of Rio Parismina several years ago.

Good Luck to both of you!

I saw that boat when we were there BN. were going on a 1 1/2 day trip aboard the condor with fishermans landing when we get there Thursday night, then we're gonna get on a 3/4 day boat Saturday morning, head home Sunday. The fish counts have been looking really good. Didn't here anything about the limits changing but I'll be happy with anything. Looking to boat my first tuna!! would be nice to find a couple of better sized sliver fish here before we leave to get the arms warmed up for those hard fighting pacific fish!! Haha

My first tuna was about 10 years ago in Jamaica. Me and the wife met another couple at a resort and we struck up a friendship. Me and the other guy decided to go out on the "resort charter". We paid and showed up the following morning bright and early. Up pulls a 16' wooden boat with a 15 horse johson and an old Jamaican guy. Yep this was our "charter" that we paid $500 for.......off we headed into the ocean fearing for our lives!

We caught 5 fish in the 20-40lb range in my best estimate, all on generally lighter tackle. it was a big rush fighting those fish for a 30-45 mins trying not to tip the boat over

One our way back our "captain" tells us to take whatever we want from the black hefty bag in the middle of the boat......it was filled with Mary Jane.........lol.
